The Opportunity
As the Support Officer – People and Culture, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth and effective operation of WAAC’s People and Culture function. You will provide high-level administrative, human resources, and workplace health and safety (WHS) support across the organisation.
This role involves working closely with both the Manager - People and Culture and the CEO’s office, providing confidential assistance on a wide range of tasks—from recruitment, compliance and policy development, to safety audits and organisational reporting. You’ll be a central point of coordination, helping ensure our policies and practices are not only compliant but reflect WAAC’s inclusive and values-driven culture.
This is an ideal role for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, people-focused environment and is passionate about making a difference in the not-for-profit sector.
About you
You’re a confident and capable professional with a strong sense of discretion, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine interest in supporting people-focused work.
You're not only comfortable juggling multiple priorities — you thrive on it. You bring a proactive, can-do attitude to your work and are always looking for ways to improve systems and processes. Whether it’s handling confidential HR matters, organising safety training, or coordinating policy updates, you understand the importance of getting the details right.
You’re values-aligned, comfortable working in an inclusive, community-based organisation, and bring a respectful and professional approach to engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
