About the role
This is a great opportunity for a mature Practice Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a highly professional, yet relaxed accounting practice based in Thirroul, NSW. The firm was established in 2008 and most of the team are long standing. Working 4 days per week, within a team of 5, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the practice and maintaining the firms reputation for exceptional customer service.
What you'll be doing
The role is essentially 20-30% assisting the 2 Senior Portfolio Managers with client communications, accounting, tax, bookkeeping, co-ordinating documents for finance, ATO lodgements and reports, ASIC type tasks etc. The balance of the role is a wide variety of office administration and management functions. You will be assisted with office administration by a casual, junior receptionist.
Responsibilities would include:
Manage the practices IT and software systems and maintain CRM integrity
Maintain the firms internal Xero file, including invoicing and payroll
Assist the 2 Senior Accountants in providing business services to clients, lodging ATO forms and other business/government related forms and applications
Provide high-level PA type support to the Owner Partner, assisting with business development, financial management and special projects
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards e.g. OHS, Tax Agents Board, CPA, PI Insurance etc
Analyse practice data and provide feedback to the Owner Partners, making recommendations for process improvements
Implement and monitor processes and quality control measures to maintain the practices high standards of service

We would love you to have the following
Significant experience (8+ years) as a Practice Manager or in a senior administrative role within a professional services firm
Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
Strong understanding of accounting practice management, including technology, financial management, human resources, and client service delivery
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and staff
Proven track record of implementing and managing efficient office systems and procedures
Proactive and solutions-focused, with a commitment to continuous improvement
You enjoy working in a small but friendly team environment
What we offer
The role is envisaged as either 4 days per week or 30 hours per week. We are open to engaging on either a permanent part time basis, or a casual or contracting basis.
