ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsibilities
Provide support on all server’s operating systems application architectures, storage systems, network infrastructure
Manage IT onboarding/offboarding processes
Respond, troubleshoot, resolve, IT service tickets on a timely manner according to SLAs.
Implement new technology solutions.
Management of 3rd party contracts & 3rd party delivered service level.
Management of Major Incident Management process ensuring appropriate engagements between support Groups &/or IT providers for timely resolutions.
Determine root cause of issues & communicate appropriately to internal & external customers.
Responsible for ensuring customer & business are kept updated on any IT events or issues.
Maintain IT assets register for various locations.
Provide reports to an agreed schedule (or on request), including capacity management & service desk performance reports.
Attend the Group IT meeting and business management meetings. Actively contribute to IT Service Delivery strategy and Group strategy.
Ensures the environment is in a known state and solutions are documented.
Lead business process improvement through IT innovation and change.
Supporting Business applications, CRM, ERP, Web Store, Sales Desk, Warehouse management system.
ADDITIONAL:
To use & assist other members of the IT department & Midwich Group end users in the use of IT systems to carry out duties in the most efficient & effective manner.
To adhere to all Midwich Group security polices & procedures to ensure integrity & security of all systems.
To achieve agreed objectives & personal appraisal targets, as agreed by Head of Group IT.
To adopt a positive & enthusiastic approach in order to promote the use of IT facilities throughout the Midwich Group.
Ensure all the IT services within the areas of responsibility are provided to high quality service provision to end users.
Ensure that duties are undertaken with due regard & compliance with the Data Protection Act & other legislation.
ABOUT YOU
Technical Skills
Operating Systems Proficiency
Windows (client and server – basic to intermediate level)
Hardware Troubleshooting
Diagnosing and replacing faulty components (e.g. screen, RAM, HDD, peripherals)
Networking Fundamentals
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN
Basic router/switch configuration and troubleshooting
Active Directory & Group Policy
User account management
Permissions, OU structure, and GPO troubleshooting
Microsoft 365 Administration
Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive
Licence management and user support
Remote Support Tools
Proficient with tools such as TeamViewer, ScreenConnect, or RDP
Ticketing Systems
Experience with platforms such as ServiceNow, Freshservice, or Zendesk
Software Installation & Configuration
Deploying and configuring business applications
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
Methodical approach to diagnosing complex issues
Strong root cause analysis and documentation abilities
Sound judgement on when and how to escalate to 3rd line support
