Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Account Manager to drive sales in the large-scale commercial solar sector. This role focuses on engaging with councils, government bodies, and C&I clients, proactively reaching out to cold leads and responding to large-scale commercial inquiries, gathering key client information for quotations, and successfully closing deals.
This is a remote position, offering flexibility to work from home while collaborating with teams and partners across the country.
Key Responsibilities
Initiate conversations with cold leads and incoming enquiries and convert them into successful sales.
Gather key client information and share it with internal team members to ensure accurate quotes.
Engage with potential clients, build strong relationships, and drive sales to completion.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system.
Collaborate with the sales team to achieve revenue targets and company goals.
Engage with potential customers to understand their energy needs and recommend customised solar solutions
Explain the benefits of solar energy and demonstrate the cost-saving and environmental advantages of our products
Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and generate new leads through networking and outreach
Stay up-to-date with the latest solar technology and industry developments to provide expert advice
Performance Measures
Consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
High conversion rates from initial outreach to closed sales.
Strong relationship management with commercial clients, leading to repeat business and referrals.
Accurate and timely CRM updates for lead tracking and sales pipeline management.
Skills & Qualifications
Demonstrable understanding of basic electrical principles relevant to solar PV systems (e.g., AC/DC power, voltage, current, system components).
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation), with the ability to clearly articulate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven experience in sales, preferably in the solar or renewable energy sector.
Commitment to staying informed about the evolving renewable energy landscape.
Strong negotiation and closing skills.
Ability to understand and analyse energy bills and consumption data.
A degree-qualified electrical/renewable energy engineer with 10+ years specialising in commercial solar (100kW–750kW)
Must have a minimum of 5 years’ sales experience in large-scale commercial solar and battery.
In-depth understanding of solar solutions for C&I clients.
Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship management skills.
Proven track record of achieving a high conversion rate and successfully closing deals, especially from cold leads.
Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tracking tools.
Highly self-motivated, target-driven, and a team player.
