Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily operations across the maintenance team at a prestigious private school site
- Undertake hands-on maintenance and repair work, actively supporting your team with day-to-day tasks across the site
- Provide hands-on support while overseeing reactive and planned maintenance for buildings, grounds, and facilities
- Play a key role in setting up and transitioning the newly acquired site, establishing systems and processes for long-term success
- Manage contract performance to ensure KPIs and service level agreements are consistently met
- Deliver exceptional customer service, acting as the key point of contact for client representatives and senior stakeholders
- Oversee site improvement projects, including landscaping, minor refurbishments, and general maintenance works
- Ensure compliance with WHS regulations and statutory obligations, including emergency response coordination
- Handle a range of administrative responsibilities such as compliance documentation, work order management, rostering, and reporting
- Coordinate vendor activity and ensure contractor compliance with safety standards and Australian regulations
Contribute to continuous service improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiencies, upgrades, or operational enhancements
About You
- Trade qualified in a relevant field (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, electrical) with hands-on experience in general building and grounds maintenance
- Confident in your technical knowledge and practical skills, with a strong understanding of reactive and preventative maintenance across commercial or educational sites
- Proven leadership experience—you're comfortable guiding a team, setting expectations, and supporting your staff to perform at their best
- Naturally proactive and solution-focused—you anticipate issues before they arise and take ownership of outcomes
- Positive and energetic, with a genuine enthusiasm for what you do and a commitment to fostering a high-performing and engaged team culture
- Skilled at building strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams—you're a clear communicator who listens, collaborates, and inspires trust
- Values-driven, with a strong sense of pride in delivering quality work and representing your organisation with professionalism
- Able to pass a Police Check and Working With Children Check, and hold a valid driver’s licence
