About the role
Australia’s affordable rental housing co-ops present a real opportunity to deliver housing stability to more Australians. People like to live in housing co-operatives. Many people will choose to stay in their co-operative through various life changes, making co-operatives a popular choice for long-term renters.
You'll be integral to delivering strategic initiatives and building organisational capacity. The role presents a unique opportunity to develop much-needed new housing and grow the cooperative housing sector in SA.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you'll leverage your business development and general/operational management expertise to help shape organisational direction and grow cooperative housing in scale and diversity. The Business Development Manager’s primary focus is to manage Common Equity’s Business Management, Improvement, and Development activities.
Salary and hours are subject to negotiation with the successful candidate based on your experience, skills and knowledge.
In this dynamic role, you will:
Advise Common Equity’s CEO (Chief Executive Officer), Board and Committees on strategic business improvement, development and growth, leading the delivery of projects and initiatives.
Lead and manage Common Equity’s administrative functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations and plan, direct, and coordinate activities related to finance, HR, IT, governance, risk and compliance.
Contribute to building and maintaining a culture congruent with Common Equity’s values and the principles of co-operation.
About you: Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a background in general management, proven business development experience and a passion for driving change in collaboration with others, including an
Ability to work with members of housing co-operatives in a way that maximises their influence on decision making.
Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to independently initiate, coordinate, and prioritise competing projects and tasks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
