About the role
As our new Events Administrator, you’ll be in the middle of the action - supporting the planning, logistics and smooth running of festivals, neighbourhood gatherings and major City-led events that bring thousands together.
Reporting to the Coordinator City Events, this is a new full-time permanent role in a welcoming and thriving local council – if this role excites you, we’d love to hear from you!
What will you be doing in the role?
Assisting in administering the City of Canning’s annual Calendar of Events and other initiatives organised by the Major Events Team
Handling enquiries and being the first point of contact for the Major Events Team
Attending events, assisting in event setup, pack down, note taking and on-the-day coordination
Administering event surveys and collating feedback from the community
Liaising with internal teams and business units on events logistics and delivery
Seeking quotes and securing suppliers for event equipment and supplies
Maintaining accurate event documentation, databases and correspondence
About you
You’re highly organised, proactive, and have a passion for the community and events! Friendly with an outgoing personality, you thrive in fast-paced environments and juggle multiple priorities with poise.
And you will have:
Strong administrative skills, attention to detail and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Availability to work outside of normal office hours, including weeknights and weekends
A hands-on approach and physical fitness for manual labour with events set-up and pack down
Initiative and able to work autonomously, as well as exceptionally with others
A valid driver’s license and reliable transport to get to and from events (after hours)
A satisfactory National Police Clearance (less than six months old) or willingness to obtain
Previous experience in event administration, planning and delivery will be highly regarded!
We also encourage university and Tafe graduates to apply - particularly those with studies in event management, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
