The role:

TYB is seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter who works efficiently in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong spreadsheet, reporting, and project accounting capabilities.

Responsibilities:

· Process employee payroll data on a daily, weekly, and fortnightly basis.

· Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including updates for new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes.

· Maintain payroll records, ensuring compliance with relevant employment regulations.

· Liaise with all departments and management on payroll policies, processes, and reporting.

· Serve as the internal point of contact for payroll-related inquiries.

· Administer various types of employee leave.

· Support workers compensation claim processes and rehabilitation documentation as related to payroll.

· Track and allocate labour costs to specific projects to ensure accurate job costing.

· Work with project managers to reconcile payroll data against project budgets.

· Generate and analyse labour productivity reports for ongoing projects.

· Ensure compliance with project-based financial reporting requirements.

· Assist in forecasting and cost analysis to support project financial planning.

· Assist other accounting functions and processes as needed.

Requirements:

· Proven experience with payroll processes and best practices.

· Experience in project accounting or job-cost environments preferred.

· Strong proficiency with MS365 Office, particularly Excel, Word, and SharePoint.

· Knowledge of MYOB AccountRight (finance, time sheets and payroll)

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to manage sensitive payroll data with confidentiality.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.
