Cucina Toorak, a renowned Italian restaurant located in Toorak, is looking for a dedicated and highly skilled Italian Cook with specialist expertise in fresh handmade pasta preparation to join our culinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook authentic Italian dishes with a focus on handmade pasta varieties such as tagliatelle, ravioli, gnocchi, and tortellini.

Create pasta doughs and fillings from scratch daily using traditional Italian techniques.

Ensure consistent high-quality plating and presentation aligned with Cucina Toorak’s standards.

Manage ingredient preparation and maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.

Collaborate closely with the Head Chef and kitchen staff to deliver seasonal and menu specials.

Monitor stock levels for pasta-related ingredients and communicate ordering needs.

Train junior kitchen staff on pasta making and Italian cooking techniques as required.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Minimum 3 years professional experience in Italian kitchens with a strong emphasis on pasta making.

Expert knowledge of Italian culinary traditions, particularly fresh pasta dough preparation and cooking methods.

Experience working in fine dining or high-volume Italian restaurants.

Excellent knife skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (certification preferred).
