The Opportunity
We’re looking for a passionate, proactive and strategic Business Development Manager to lead our efforts in securing incentive travel programs into Lutruwita/Tasmania. You’ll be a key connector, working across national and international markets to showcase what makes Tasmania an extraordinary destination for rewarding, high-impact incentive experiences.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, loves the thrill of converting opportunities, and is excited to represent Lutruwita/Tasmania across the business events industry.
What You’ll Do
Actively identify, pursue and convert business event opportunities
Build and maintain strong relationships with event planners, industry associations, corporates, PCOs and incentive houses, both nationally and internationally
Represent BET at tradeshows, in-market sales activities, conferences and client events, promoting Lutruwita/Tasmania’s event offering and industry capability
Lead and support site visits, bid submissions and familiarisation programs, ensuring a seamless client experience
Collaborate with BET members to ensure their products and services are well represented in proposals and promoted through BET channels
Work with the broader BET team on sales campaigns, industry engagement and content creation
Maintain accurate data and insights in our CRM to inform strategy, reporting and lead tracking
Be an enthusiastic and informed ambassador for Lutruwita/Tasmania, sharing insights into our key industries, regions and event infrastructure
What You’ll Bring
A genuine passion for Lutruwita/Tasmania and a flair for storytelling
Experience in business development, sales or account management (experience in the incentive travel or events industry highly regarded)
Exceptional communication, negotiation and presentation skills
Strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to convert leads into wins
Confidence working autonomously and managing multiple projects with agility
A strategic mindset and innovative approach to problem-solving
Familiarity with CRM platforms and a keen eye for detail
Ability and willingness to travel regularly with a full drivers’ license
