Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement standardised cooking procedures to ensure consistent food quality and operational efficiency.
· Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain high standards.
· Demonstrate mastery in preparing and cooking a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes, ensuring exceptional taste, presentation, and quality.
· Plan, design, and refine menu offerings in accordance with the restaurant’s culinary identity and market trends.
· Estimate food and labour costs to assist in budgeting and financial planning, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.
· Monitor ingredient quality and freshness, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
· Oversee and enforce kitchen hygiene and food safety protocols in line with regulatory requirements.
· Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation to support efficient kitchen operations.
· Select, train, and supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to proper culinary techniques and procedures.
· Oversee kitchen operations and coordinate kitchen staff during peak service periods to ensure smooth workflow and timely service delivery.
· Foster a supportive and collaborative team environment by leading and motivating kitchen staff.
Requirements:
· Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is a minimum requirement. A Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field is highly preferred.
· Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Chef in Chinese cuisine.
· Expertise in a variety of Chinese cooking techniques, with hands-on experience preparing traditional and contemporary Chinese dishes.
· Strong understanding of Chinese culinary methods, ingredients, and specialized kitchen equipment, ensuring high standards of food quality and authenticity.
· Proven ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently, ensuring smooth workflow and high productivity during peak service hours.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
· Passionate about delivering exceptional food experiences, with a focus on taste, presentation, and consistency.
· Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a calm and focused approach to problem-solving in a high-energy kitchen setting.

· A competitive salary package of $75,000 to $85,000 + Superannuation
