🍳 Sous Chef – Live Lounge Wanneroo

Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 per year | Employment: Full-Time

Live Lounge Wanneroo is one of the northern corridor’s most energetic venues — with live music, packed Sunday sessions, themed events, and hearty pub fare leading the charge. As we continue to grow, we're on the hunt for an experienced Sous Chef to support our Head Chef and help lead the kitchen with consistency, creativity, and calm.

Your Role

As Sous Chef, you’ll play a key part in delivering smooth kitchen operations and high-quality food service across busy weekends, functions, and daily service. You’ll be second-in-charge, helping guide the kitchen team while driving performance, prep standards, and plate quality.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure consistent quality and appealing presentation of all dishes.

Lead prep and service across multiple sections.

Supervise kitchen staff to foster a positive and productive environment.

Manage kitchen workflow, especially during high-volume events.

Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards.

Assist in ordering, stock control, and cost management.

Mentor and train junior staff to build kitchen capability.

Act as Head Chef on days off or during leave.

Communicate clearly and work collaboratively across all departments.

Skills & Experience

4+ years’ experience in commercial kitchens (including leadership roles).

Strong cooking skills across all sections.

Ability to manage high-volume service with precision and speed.

Confident in training and supervising junior staff.

Understanding of kitchen systems, ordering, and cost control.

Food Safety Supervisor certification preferred.

Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery highly regarded.
