Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end construction of utility-scale solar (hybrid) and wind projects, ensuring all work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Collaborate closely with the Construction Director, providing local market expertise and ensuring all activities comply with Australian standards and regulations.
• Lead site and office-based teams, fostering strong communication and coordination between stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, proactively identifying and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure rigorous compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) and environmental regulations, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety on-site.
• Provide technical oversight and support for the integration of BESS technology into solar and wind projects.
• Conduct regular site visits to projects (140MW + BESS and 200MW + BESS), ensuring construction progress aligns with project milestones.
• Support contract administration, assist with claims management, and contribute to contract negotiations as required.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, landowners, and community stakeholders, representing our client’s values and commitment to sustainability.

Skills Required

Technical Skills:

• Demonstrated experience managing construction of solar (hybrid) and wind projects in Australia, including BESS integration.
• Strong knowledge of Australian construction codes, WHS, and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Familiarity with contract administration and claims management.

Soft Skills:

• Effective leadership and team management, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to liaise with local authorities and community groups.
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills to address challenges in a fast-paced, evolving sector.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.

Desirable:

• Spanish language skills are a plus, supporting communication with international stakeholders.
• Experience working with international construction directors or multicultural teams.
