The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, nurturing key relationships, and converting leads into lasting partnerships. Your work will have a direct impact on company revenue, market share, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business Acquisition:
Identify and target potential clients within commercial and construction sectors.
➤ KPI: 4+ new business outreach efforts per month. - Client Relationship Management:
Build long-term, trust-based relationships with clients and stakeholders.
➤ KPI: 80%+ repeat business from managed accounts. - Quoting & Proposal Development:
Deliver timely, tailored proposals aligned to client needs.
➤ KPI: 100% of proposals issued within 48 hours. - Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
Track trends and uncover new market opportunities.
➤ KPI: 1+ new opportunity identified per quarter. - CRM & Pipeline Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and tasks.
➤ KPI: Daily CRM updates and no overdue follow-ups. - Cross-Team Collaboration:
Work with operations, marketing, and support to deliver client success.
➤ KPI: Zero customer complaints from internal misalignment. - Lead Qualification & Conversion:
Convert qualified leads into sales through proactive follow-up.
➤ KPI: 100% of leads contacted within 2 business days. - Sales Reporting & Forecasting:
Provide timely updates on activity, KPIs, and revenue.
➤ KPI: Forecast accuracy within ±20%. - Networking & Events:
Represent the brand at expos, events, and trade shows.
➤ KPI: Attend 2+ key events per year. - Upselling & Solution Expansion:
Identify upsell opportunities within existing accounts.
➤ KPI: 70%+ upselling rate during client reviews.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Commercial acumen and goal-driven mindset
- CRM proficiency and confidence using Microsoft Office
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Willingness to learn fencing systems and solutions
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally
