About the role
School Food Matters' is seeking a motivated and experienced Part-time SmartFood Program Coordinator to join our team in North West Tasmania. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of our SmartFood program, which aims to promote healthy eating habits and food literacy among local schools and communities.
What you'll be doing
Coordinate and manage the delivery of the SmartFood program, including liaising with schools, developing and delivering educational workshops, and organising community events
Develop and maintain partnerships with local schools, community organisations, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the program
Monitor and evaluate the program's effectiveness, and continuously improve its delivery based on feedback and emerging needs
Contribute to the development of program resources and educational materials
Assist in the promotion and marketing of the SmartFood program to attract new participants
Provide regular reporting on program activities and outcomes to the organisation's leadership team
What we're looking for
Relevant tertiary qualification in community development, health promotion, or a related field
Demonstrated experience in coordinating and implementing community-based programs, with a focus on health and nutrition
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of the local community and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the area of food education and healthy eating
Passion for promoting healthy and sustainable food practices within the community
