We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Junior Sous Chef to join our team at Australia’s largest hotel.

The Role

Our new Junior Sous Chef will oversee the smooth running of the kitchen without supervision, supporting the senior chefs with daily management and food preparation, ensuring maximum quality and profitability.This includes supervision, training, development and coordination of the kitchen brigade as well as effective communication and liaison with other departments.

Main Responsibilities:

· Ensuring all standards and procedures are met resulting in consistency, quality, and profitability

· Ensure the efficient operations in the kitchen in the absence of Chef de Cuisine

· To foster an open and supportive working environment

· Develop and implement creative menu items that adhere to Hyatt brand standards

· Takes responsibility of the ordering process

· Clearly understands stock rotation and the correct storage of perishable food items

· Work closely with other employees in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall satisfaction of our guests

· Motivate and supervise the team during daily operations

· Assists to conduct regular communications meetings and ensure that departmental briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as necessary

Our Expectations:

· Experience in a similar sized Hotel/Venue

· Full-Time commitment

· Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster

· Excellent understanding of HACCP and food safety

· Experience in managing a team

· Must have full working rights in Australia and currently live in Australia
