We have an opportunity available for a experienced Junior Sous Chef to work in our main Restaurant Azure Bar and Grill for our A La Carte dinner service. You will Supervise and manage our large kitchen team to ensure a productive work environment which promotes the ‘Elements of Byron way’. You will be an integral part of a profitable kitchen team, successfully contributing to the achievement of quality standards, business objectives and profit targets. In conjunction with the Executive Chef, develop and maintain cuisine concepts and consistent standards of excellence for food preparation and presentation in our restaurants and outlets. ** Please note that we are not in a position to consider sponsorship**
To be considered for this opportunity you must have at least 2 years working in a large resturant at a Junior Sous level and be living in the local area. You may have extensive Restaurant and fast paced Cafe experience but are looking to expand your skills outside of this environment. Requirement
- Previous experience at a Junior Sous Chef level within a large high Restaurant and/or Resort environment
- Full availability including weekends and public holidays
- ** Please note that we are not in a position to consider sponsorship**
- Able to commit to a full time position 5 days a week including weekends
- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications, min requirement Cert III in commercial cookery
- Understanding of the financial management of food operations including, managing budgets, wage costs forecasting, staff rostering, sales analysis and reporting.
- PC skills (e.g.: Microsoft Office Suite)
- Strong staff management skills with the ability to create a motivating environment.
- Experience supervising a large team.
- Demonstrated hands-on approach with a passion for food and presentation
- Able to adapt to busy periods with a sense of urgency
- Willingness to learn great techniques
- Able to follow recipes and plan your time accordingly
- Actively demonstrate pride in your work
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards
