About the role:
Skills SA is the steward of South Australia's funded vocational education and training (VET) system, driving successful outcomes for individuals, the economy, and the wider community. It provides policy leadership for the South Australian VET sector by objectively assessing skill needs and strategically managing public investment to maximize skills development.
Working as part of the Analytics and Information Systems team, as the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to design, develop and maintain business intelligence solutions that provide data-driven insights to inform VET policy and investment decisions.
More specifically, you will:
Coordinate, deliver and enhance data reporting and visualisation processes, focusing on automation, fostering a data-driven culture and promoting continuous improvement.
Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
Undertake research, analyse and evaluate labour and training market data and information to support evidence-based VET policy development and investment decisions.
Develop and implement strategies to ensure efficient and effective data management and analysis by leveraging advanced software tools and statistical techniques.
Write SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis to support decision-making, ensuring efficient performance and accuracy.
Key Competencies:
To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modelling, and report development.
Proven experience in using SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
Experience with data visualisation techniques to effectively communicate insights.
You will also have:
The ability to critically analyse information, problems and situations, apply lateral thinking and develop innovative and practical solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to build and maintain strategic networks to achieve performance outcomes.
The ability to work independently, effectively prioritise strategic activities to achieve performance outcomes in environments characterised by competing priorities and expectations.
Remuneration:
Competitive salary will be offered as $85, 790 to $95, 413 pa plus superannuation

Qualifications:
Essential: Qualification in statistics, economics, mathematics or a related field.
Desirable: Nil
Special Conditions:
This position will be offered as a full-time contract up to 12 months.
A Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) and Working with Children Check will be required prior to employment.
