About the Role

The Digital and Information Services branch delivers agile and transformative information and technology, which enables council to be a leader in providing innovative and sustainable services to the community.

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will support Council’s business intelligence and reporting requirements by providing expert analysis, technical advice, governance, data model development, advanced visualisations and reporting.

You will lead the organisations requirement for creating, maintaining and enhancing existing and new data models, bringing together data from many disparate sources.

You will initiate and coordinate high level research and recommend innovative solutions to complex business requirements utilising business intelligence, reporting and visualisation solutions.

You will manage, support and continually develop the organisation’s corporate PowerBI Business Intelligence applications, while leading the organisations governance of the enterprise Business Intelligence platform by tracking, reporting, evaluating performance and recommending best practice for optimal use.

About you

As a requirement of this role, you will possess a bachelor’s degree in information technology or other relevant tertiary qualification and substantial relevant experience in a similar position developing business intelligence systems and reporting solutions for a large multi-disciplinary organisation including data model development, problem resolution, data visualisation, client engagement, and contract management processes.

You will have demonstrated experience in development of complex PowerBI reporting solutions to meet business requirements and have demonstrated understanding in Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools and a high level of experience in creating complex data models with Structured Query Language.

You will have demonstrated experience (or ability to rapidly acquire skills) in Microsoft Visio, PowerBI gateway, along with comprehensive knowledge and application of data warehousing principles and practices including the use of data warehouses and data marts.

You will possess a current “C” class drivers license.
