The Group, made up of Specialised Quarries & Concrete, Specialised Civil Services and our other subsidiary businesses, is a leading provider of Quarry products and services, Concrete production, Civil Construction, Labour Hire Services and Freight & Logistics to the East Coast of Australia and abroad.

Employing approximately 120 staff and up to 30 contractors between our Narrabri, Gunnedah and Brisbane bases, SCG is at the forefront of providing timely, safe and quality services to our valued clients.

About the Role

Specialised Civil Group are looking for a dynamic and motivated Group General Manager to oversee and guide our businesses through an exciting time of growth and development across our diverse and challenging portfolios.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this senior leadership position is critical to the ongoing success of our operations across our three operational bases at Narrabri, Gunnedah and Brisbane.

Who are we looking for?

· A proven self-starter with extensive operational management experience in the Civil, Quarrying, Concrete or Mining industries.

· Excellent financial acumen with a strong track record in commercial and contract management across multiple P&L’s.

· A natural communicator with demonstrated success in change management and delivering operational excellence with small to medium size teams.

· A strong people manager with experience in leading, training and mentoring staff to improve business outcomes.

· Experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of strategic and operational initiatives across diverse business units in line with business objectives and goals.

· A strong commitment to continuous improvement and a demonstrated ability to deliver tangible results in Safety, Operations and Quality disciplines.

· High level business acumen and market analysis skills including the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities in both core business areas and new industries.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and mentor a team of dedicated managers and operational staff to achieve positive business outcomes.

· Develop and maintain client and stakeholder relationships across varying industries.

· Continually monitor, and where required, implement considered workplace structural change to ensure positive business outcomes based on market forces and business need.

· Lead and drive a culture of safe, quality and high performing operations.

· Ensure our businesses are aligned with industry standards and are continually working towards positive and responsible outcomes.
