Odd Culture Newtown is a vibrant wine bar on the ground floor of a dynamic multi-level venue, with the newly launched Bistro Grenier - our French-inspired bistro- located upstairs. At Odd Culture, we embrace the art of fermentation, offering an extensive and meticulously curated food and beverage program. We are currently seeking a senior manager to work alongside the General Manager in overseeing both levels of this unique venue. This is a multi-faceted leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and is excited by the challenge of managing two distinctive but connected spaces.

The Restaurant and Wine Bar Manager is responsible for the daily operations, service execution, and team leadership at Odd Culture Wine Bar and Bistro Grenier. This role ensures that service runs smoothly, the team is engaged and well-supported, and the guest experience is always considered and intentional. Supporting the General Manager, the Restaurant Manager takes a leading role in upholding service standards, managing staff, and overseeing venue flow, ensuring consistency and attention to detail across all shifts.

A key part of the role is bringing together the management team and casual staff, fostering a work environment where expectations are clear, training is ongoing, and everyone is aligned in delivering a high-quality experience. Beyond day-to-day operations, the Restaurant Manager plays a crucial role in keeping ideas fresh and the experience exciting for both guests and staff. The focus is on refinement and elevation - not just operational efficiency, but the small details that define the venue’s character.

A strong emphasis is placed on venue upkeep and maintenance, ensuring all equipment is properly cared for, cleaned, and functional, and that guest spaces remain in impeccable condition at all times. The role comes with continuous development in food, wine, and beverage knowledge, supported by mentorship from the Head Office team.

What We’re Looking For

We want someone who:

● Brings a calm, confident presence on the floor and leads by example in both restaurant and wine bar settings.
● Has strong experience managing teams, service flow, and guest experience in high-paced venues.
● Cares deeply about detail and consistency, and is passionate about hospitality that feels personal and considered.
● Can manage across multiple service styles, from a bustling bar to elevated bistro dining.
● Is proactive in developing their team and maintaining high standards day-to-day.

What You’ll Do

● Lead daily operations and team management at Odd Culture Newtown and Bistro Grenier.
● Deliver exceptional service across all shifts, ensuring guest experience is consistent and intentional.
● Mentor and train FOH staff, creating a strong, aligned, and confident team.
● Oversee venue maintenance, cleanliness, and functionality across both levels.
● Work closely with the GM to maintain service standards, manage rosters, stock, and resolve any guest issues with care and professionalism.
