About the Role:
Our client, a well-established restaurant in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. This hands-on role requires a balance of leadership, organisation, and service excellence. This role is also a full-time role based on a flexible rotating roster. This role does require occasional extended hours during peak periods (e.g. weekends, holidays).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, warm, and welcoming environment.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations.
- Manage opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS systems.
- Lead, train, and supervise front-of-house and support staff.
- Prepare rosters in line with business needs and manage staffing levels.
- Foster a positive team culture and resolve minor staff conflicts and performance issues.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer feedback and resolve complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders for food, beverages, and supplies.
- Work with the business owner on cost control, budgeting, and reporting.
- Provide weekly reports on sales, labour, customer feedback, and key operational insights.
- Collaborate with the business owner on menu updates, marketing promotions, and service improvements.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a restaurant or hospitality management role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of restaurant operations, stock control, and basic financials.
- Hands-on and adaptable approach to managing challenges.
- Passionate about food, customer service, and delivering a positive dining experience.
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Experience in a family-friendly or casual dining environment.
- Familiarity with POS systems and staff rostering software.
Qualification Requirements:
- RSA certification and knowledge of SA liquor licensing regulations.
- Food Safety Supervisor certificate (preferred but not required).
