Role Overview:

As draftsperson at Southern Stainless you play a vital role in converting product concepts and customer requirements into precise technical drawings and documentation for Sheetmetal fabrication. Their primary purpose is to produce detailed 2D and 3D models using SolidWorks that accurately reflect material specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and fabrication methods. These drawings form the foundation for manufacturing, ensuring each product is produced accurately and to a consistent standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpreting product briefs and translating them into clear and practical shop drawings for use on the factory floor.

Working closely with the production manager and team leaders to confirm technical details and resolve issues with the aim of improving productivity throughout the manufacturing process.

Maintaining alignment between technical drawings and the companies ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software. This involves creating and updating precise bills of materials (BOMs), assigning correct work centers and ensuring routings are accurate to reflect real production workflows.

Managing drawing revisions and document control.

Programming machines !!!

Requirements:

Proficient in CAD drafting (Solidworks preferable)

Must possess strong motivation and excellent communication skills.

Keen attention to detail with a proactive approach getting the job done.
