Our work spans commercial, educational, industrial, and residential sectors, underpinned by a design ethos that is both socially attuned and architecturally rigorous. As we expand our educational sector works and continue delivering large-scale commercial and Mult residential, we’re seeking a highly motivated, experienced Architectural Draftsperson or Building Designer to join our close-knit team on a 6-12-month contract, with the possibility of longer-term engagement.

The Role

You’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality design documentation across educational, commercial, and residential projects. We’re looking for someone who can bring innovative thinking and practical experience to all stages of documentation, with particular strength in AutoCAD-based drawing production.

Your work will involve:

Designing and documenting within master plans and complex site contexts.

Development of Town Planning (TP) drawings and architectural documentation for educational and commercial projects.

Producing modular design kits in AutoCAD for commercial and residential detail development.

Designing multiple façade & Section standard options as well as ‘kit details’ to create in house efficiencies.

Creating and refining master drawings that comply with the BCA, NCC, NDA, ResCode, Small Lot Housing Code, and developer guidelines.

Translating designs into site-specific working drawings, including:

Site plans with feature surveys and contours

Coordination of engineering, ESD, and other relevant consultants.

Hardware and FF&E schedules

Reviewing documentation in response to internal and external feedback.

Delegating and reviewing tasks handled by external drafting support teams.

Contributing to ongoing improvements in design standards, templates, and workflows.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 5 years’ experience across industrial, commercial and residential projects.

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to independently manage drawing sets.

Strong understanding of planning and regulatory frameworks in Victoria.

Demonstrated experience preparing Town Planning and construction documentation.

Confidence working within master-planned sites and responding to complex site conditions.

Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and deliver to a high standard.

Innovative yet pragmatic mindset, with a collaborative and flexible working style.

Sketchup and/or Rhino skills are desirable but not essential.
