Brimbank is continuously growing, with many transformational infrastructure projects about to break ground. A key focus of the coming years will be working with the State and Federal Governments to establish Melbourne Airport Rail; to complete redevelopment of Sunshine and Albion Stations; and the realisation of the Sunshine Precinct Masterplan which will Sunshine transformed into a CBD, vastly increasing local jobs, housing, businesses, services and tourism to provide for the many tens of thousands of people living, working and travelling through the Brimbank.
The municipality has a large asset base, and has a broad range of opportunities to innovate, plan and deliver to better meet its community's needs.

The role
- Reporting to the Digital Communications Coordinator, we are seeking a Digital Communications Officer who can bring their skills and experience to:
- Work collaboratively with the Digital Communications Coordinator to plan and implement digital strategies that align with Council priorities and community engagement goals.
- Work closely with other Communications and Community Engagement business units to effectively communicate with and engage target audiences.
- Create and deliver engaging and accessible digital content that supports Council projects, services, events and internal communications.
- Monitor and moderate social media channels, managing community interactions and tracking performance to inform future content.
- Manage day-to-day content updates for Council websites, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with accessibility and SEO best practices.
- Assist with strategic content planning, using analytics to monitor performance across digital channels and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Support the delivery of e-newsletters and digital campaigns, including managing subscriber databases and campaign reporting.
To be considered you will have:
- Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and manage engaging digital content across websites, social media and e-newsletters, with a strong understanding of tone, accessibility and audience needs.
- Proven experience in creating and scheduling social media content, managing community interactions and using platform insights to guide engagement strategies.
- Skilled in supporting and contributing to digital communication strategies and campaigns in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Experienced in using digital systems such as CMS platforms, social media scheduling tools, email marketing systems and analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Meta Business Suite.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and adapt to urgent priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively, uphold organisational values and communicate effectively in a government or community-focused environment.
