About the opportunity

The Faculty of Medicine and Health is looking for a great communicator with strong SharePoint and Office 365 skills to join its internal communications and engagement team. The Communications and Digital Officer is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the Faculty of Medicine and Health intranet, SharePoint, digital channels and the development and maintenance of online Faculty processes.

The Communications and Digital Officer will maintain the visual design, site navigation, and site content of the internal channels in accordance with our information management strategy, helping faculty staff to quickly and easily find the information they need. Working closely with members of the faculty leadership team and the Engagement Manager, the successful candidate will assume a key delivery role in planning and producing digital content, digital forms and workflows, communications plans and working to improve staff engagement with internal channels.

The Communications and Digital Officer will also use their SharePoint skills to support faculty teams with managing local SharePoint sites for team-based document storage. As 'admin' for our collection of faculty SharePoint sites, the role holder will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the permissions structure in accordance with ICT data management standards. Skills in PowerAutomate and Nintex are highly advantageous, to maintain existing and create new automated online forms and workflows.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and management of the faculty of medicine and health's intranet, SharePoint and digital channels
  • identify needs for new content and work closely with relevant stakeholders to plan and generate online content
  • work to improve staff engagement with internal channels
  • maintain the visual design, site navigation and site content to assist faculty in finding the information they need quickly and easily
  • utilise SharePoint and Office 365 skills to support faculty teams to utilise available tools in their work
  • design and implement digital forms and workflows to capture information and streamline processes


About you:

  • has robust knowledge and experience with SharePoint and other Office 365 tools
  • has demonstrated experience writing and producing engaging online content
  • has experience developing online forms and processes
  • has experience using Power Automate. Experience using Nintex will be advantageous
  • has well developed project and time management skills
  • has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • can build and maintain new relationships with stakeholders throughout the faculty.
