About the role

The Stirling Arms' is looking for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at our independently owned and operated pub in the historic town of Guildford, on the doorstep to the Swan Valley. As a fulltime Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and delivery, ensuring consistently high standards and an exceptional dining experience for our customers.

This role is suitable for an experienced head chef, or a strong senior sous looking to take the step up to running your own kitchen.

We're looking for like minded people who are looking to come on a journey as we start to grow, and will be focusing on finding the right people to join the team. First and foremost we are looking for someone with the right attitude, eager to take on challenges and nurture a great team.

We have some new spaces in the works for 2025, and it will be an exciting time for a head chef to come on board and lead the charge with refreshed offerings in those spaces and potentially double our food revenue. We’re aiming to offer our guests a great standard of Aussie pub food as well as delicious pizza from our alfresco gas and wood fired dome oven.

What you'll be doing

Developing and implementing seasonal menus that showcase fresh, locally-sourced ingredients

Hands on managing and training a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff through peak periods

Bringing your passion for food to the team to help grow our food presentation and customer experience

Building our team up for success as the venue grows with 2 new spaces coming in 2025, potentially doubling our food revenue by the end of the year

Managing the Restoke platform, our food cogs and ordering platform

Maintaining a clean, organised and well-equipped kitchen environment

Continuously seeking ways to improve kitchen processes and efficiencies

What we're looking for

Several years experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a busy hospitality environment

Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a kitchen team

Excellent culinary skills with a keen attitude to teach others

In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations

A passion for using good-quality, locally-sourced ingredients

Strong time management and organisational abilities

A collaborative, customer-focused approach

Strong leadership skills and the ability to keep your cool when the kitchen heats up
