Salary: AUD 70,000 - AUD 80,000 per annum

Full Time Position: Approximately 38 hours per week.

Alphabet St is currently seeking a skilled Chef to join its dynamic team at Cronulla, NSW 2230. The ideal candidate will have experience in the culinary industry and possess a passion for delivering delicious and high-quality dishes. This role involves a range of responsibilities centred around food preparation, cooking, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes.

Planning menus, estimating food and labor costs, and managing food supply orders.

Overseeing the quality of dishes throughout the preparation and presentation process.

Collaborating with managers, dietitians, kitchen, and service staff to address food preparation matters.

Demonstrating cooking techniques and providing guidance on preparation methods.

Ensuring compliance with hygiene standards and enforcing regulations.

Selecting, training, and supervising kitchen staff.

Freezing and preserving foods as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

A minimum of one or more years of culinary experience in preparing dishes in a commercial setting.

Certificate IV in Kitchen Management/ Commercial cookery or equivalent.

Thorough understanding of health and safety standards in the kitchen, including food handling and sanitation practices.

Proficient in culinary techniques and adept in operating kitchen equipment and tools.

Meticulous in food preparation and presentation, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality dishes.

Capable of interpreting recipes and menu plans accurately and creatively.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented kitchen environment.

Good physical stamina, capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen and standing for long hours.
