We are looking for an experienced Part-time or casual Medical Receptionist. We will initially offer 3 days a week. There will be an opportunity to transition to full time in the future. This is a great opportunity to join our friendly team at Hawthorn Medical and Wellness Hub and make a real difference to patients' experiences. Immediate start is preferred.

We are also looking for a part time Dermal therapist to start in June. Flexible hours, initially part time.

Receptionist's Duties & responsibilities:

Welcome patients to the clinic and manage incoming phone calls with courtesy and professionalism

Book, reschedule and manage appointments using our medical software Best Practice

Handling patient payments and financial transactions

Assist with bookings and billing for a psychologist

Manage referrals, pathology/radiology results, and incoming correspondence

Manage some of the cosmetic bookings and cosmetic billing

Assisting with general office duties as required

What we're looking for

Prior experience working in a medical or healthcare environment (General Practice preferred)

Knowledge of Medicare billing processes and understanding of MBS item numbers

Familiarity with medical software (Best Practice)

Excellent communication, customer service and multitasking skills

Ability to work well under pressure and multitask effectively

Proficient computer skills and attention to detail

Dermal therapist's Duties & responsibilities:

Conducting comprehensive skin assessments and consultations

Performing a range of advanced skin treatments and clinical procedures including laser hair removal, chemical peels, LED light therapy, microneedling, body contouring and more

Educating clients on skin care and preparing individual management plans

Dermal therapy diploma is preferred. Training on using the equipment will be provided.

Hawthorn Medical & Wellness Hub is a new medical clinic owned and run by a female GP.

The clinic opened in September 2024 and rapidly gained popularity. It is conveniently located in HomeCo Hawthorn East shopping centre with an easy access and unlimited free parking. We are a small clinic with a plan to grow not only a GP, but also a cosmetic business.
