Heidelberg Neurology is seeking a medical receptionist to join our friendly administration team two-and-a-half days per week. We are a private medical specialist practice in the Austin Hospital precinct and require someone who is highly organised with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team environment. Prior medical receptionist or nursing experience is essential.

Responsibilities Include:

Greeting patients and accepting payments.

Scheduling, organising and confirming appointments with patients and carers

Answering incoming telephone calls and dealing with faxes, emails and other correspondence.

Managing patient referrals, test requests and other administrative tasks.

Handling patient and referring doctor enquiries efficiently and in a friendly manner. Effectively managing urgent patient queries, and liasing with medical staff as appropriate.

Managing accounts including Medicare, WorkCover and DVA and reconciling daily transactions.

The suitable candidate must have:

Experience in medical reception &/or administration.

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Computing skills including proficiency in MS Windows, Office and basic email/scanning software. Experience with Clinic2Cloud software regarded favourably.

Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

This is a part-time position, 23 hours per week (2.5 days including Tuesdays and Thursdays) with an immediate start. Please forward a curriculum vitae, cover letter and names of two references.
