About the Company:

Our client is a top-tier national firm specialising in the design and integration of smart building systems that enhance the performance, sustainability, and liveability of modern architectural spaces. From premium commercial towers and government precincts to hospitals and educational campuses, they shape Australia’s built environment through cutting-edge Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), IoT platforms, and integrated HVAC and lighting control.

The Role:

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be the key link between architectural vision and smart system capability. You’ll engage with architects, consultants, developers, and end-users to deliver automation solutions that support intelligent design outcomes and operational efficiency.

This is more than a sales role—it’s a strategic, consultative position that requires an understanding of building technology, user experience, and system interoperability within the architectural context.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify, qualify, and secure new project opportunities across commercial, institutional, and government sectors.

Work closely with architects, engineering consultants, contractors, and facility managers to specify smart solutions aligned with design intent and performance goals.

Present and promote integrated automation concepts that elevate building functionality, reduce energy consumption, and support sustainability certifications (e.g., Green Star, NABERS).

Manage bids, proposals, and commercial negotiations, leveraging your technical understanding to craft tailored solutions.

Collaborate internally with engineering, solutions, and project teams to ensure project alignment from concept to commissioning.

Stay informed on trends in smart buildings, building codes, digital twins, and intelligent infrastructure.

Ideal Candidate:

3–5+ years’ experience in technical sales, business development, or specification roles within building automation, HVAC, electrical systems, or related architectural tech fields.

Strong knowledge of BMS, EMS, HVAC controls, and integrated building platforms.

An understanding of how automation supports architectural outcomes in modern, sustainable buildings.

Ability to engage with design professionals and interpret specifications and drawings.

Commercial acumen, strong presentation skills, and a consultative, solution-driven approach.

Qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Building Services, or related fields are highly desirable.

Salary & Benefits:

$120,000 – $150,000 base salary + Super (commensurate with experience)

Fully Maintained Vehicle or Car Allowance
