As the Principal Advisor, you will provide specialist procurement advice and actively contributes to the development of policies, procedures, systems, tools, and standards to enable key stakeholders undertaking procurement planning, sourcing, contract, and supplier management activities meet business needs in line with the Departments objectives.
What you'll do
- Research, develop, implement, and review organisational procurement policy, procedures, tools and standards to effectively support business procurement needs, identify and mitigate procurement risk, increase adoption of leading practices and meet all legislative and regulatory compliance requirements. The role is fully accountable for the quality, integrity and validity of procurement advice provided.
- Support and promote ongoing strategic alignment with Whole of Government, Queensland Health, System Procurement, and key stakeholder initiatives in respect of service delivery, transformation and procurement.
- Proactively identify and address procurement process risks and develop mitigation strategies to meet relevant organisational requirements.
About you
We are searching for someone with:
- Significant experience in leading, managing and/or coordinating procurement governance matters and capability development activities preferably within a large and/or complex organisations.
- Possesses an excellent understanding of the end to end procurement processes, the underpinning systems (e.g. SAP / S4 or others) and key touchpoints with other key functions such as Finance and Supply Chain.
- Demonstrated ability to confidently manage multiple stakeholder relationships, foster collaboration and build implicit trust with the stakeholder base.
- Must have strong written and verbal and communication skills to be able to communicate effectively across various stakeholder groups and prepare timely reports, briefs, training, and guidance materials.
