Junior Project Coordinator/Estimator

GIA Road Safety Barriers is a locally-owned company located in Newcastle NSW, which undertakes road safety barrier projects throughout the East Coast of Australia.

About the role:

With a strong pipeline of work, GIA is looking for a Junior Project Coordinator/Estimator to join our team.

You will be part of our civil works projects. With your excellent communication skills and attention to detail, you will continue to build strong working relationships with our sub-contractors, suppliers and clients.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with project manager, subcontractors and clients to obtain necessary information for accurate estimates.

Review project plans and specifications to understand project requirements.

Gathering and analysing data related to construction costs.

Prepare detailed cost estimates/quotes.

Preparing tender bid proposals and presentations.

Maintain and update cost databases and historical cost records.

Participate in meetings relating to project tenders, scope, budget and coordination.

Assist in planning and execution of project tasks, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.

Maintain project documentation including schedules, reports and meeting minutes, ensuring all records are up-to-date and organised.

Identify potential project risks and assist in implementing mitigation strategies.

Key Selection Criteria

Recently completed Building and/or construction qualification at TAFE or university (Desirable).

Previous experience in construction industry (Desirable).

Current Australian drivers' licence.
