As their business continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Financial Operations team in Yatala Brisbane. About the Role
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you'll be responsible for managing end-to-end accounts payable activities for both the Australian and New Zealand markets. Your goal will be to ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance with contractual obligations and internal control requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards.
Day-to-day, you'll review and process invoices, purchase orders, and employee expenses; reconcile supplier statements; manage intercompany payments; and respond to supplier queries with professionalism and efficiency. You'll also assist with month-end closing, reporting, and process improvement initiatives that enhance operational accuracy and financial control.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and process high-volume invoices and purchase orders with accuracy.
- Manage supplier payments via EFT, BPAY, and foreign currency transactions.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Support month-end close, reporting, and intercompany payment processes.
- Maintain up-to-date supplier information and ensure compliance with corporate controls.
- Provide outstanding internal and external customer service to vendors and stakeholders.
About You
You're a finance professional with 2+ years' experience in accounts payable, ideally within a large or multi-site organisation. You're known for your accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to thrive under pressure. You bring solid technical knowledge of AP processes, strong communication skills, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
You'll also have:
- Experience with ERP or AP automation systems (Oracle or Basware highly regarded).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and collaborative approach.
