A leading Australian specialty pharmaceutical business supplying critical-care injectables to public and private hospitals nationwide. The team partners closely with clinicians and hospital pharmacy to improve patient outcomes across ICU, ED, peri-operative and ward settings.
The role
As Key Account Manager, you will own and grow relationships with key healthcare accounts (public & private hospitals). You’ll be the primary contact for decision-makers and clinical stakeholders, driving profitable growth across a specialist injectables portfolio through strategic account planning, education, and flawless execution.
Reports to: Head of Sales & Marketing
Works with: Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, and cross-functional leaders
What you’ll do
Achieve sales and profitability targets across a defined hospital portfolio and territory.
Build and maintain relationships with KOLs, Consultants, Registrars, Pharmacists, Nurses and Procurement.
Develop tailored Key Account Plans using data analysis, strategic targeting and aligned marketing initiatives.
Provide accurate product information and therapeutic support to enable optimal patient care.
Identify and convert new business within existing accounts and open new sites where appropriate.
Contribute to hospital tender submissions (data, insights, admin) and track outcomes.
Prepare annual business plans (quarterly reviews) and submit timely CRM call notes, territory reviews and expenses.
Collaborate with Marketing/Customer Service to coordinate education, trials, events and conference activity (including some after-hours/weekends as required).
Monitor market trends, competitor activity and policy changes to inform strategy and share field intelligence internally.
Champion best practice in compliance, quality and safety at all times.
What you’ll bring
Proven success in hospital pharmaceutical sales / key account management, ideally with sterile products or injectables.
Strong understanding of hospital protocols, formularies, tenders and market access pathways.
Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills across clinical and commercial stakeholders.
Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse sales/customer insights and translate them into action.
High proficiency with CRM and Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Teams).
Tertiary qualification in Business, Life Sciences or related field (or equivalent experience).
Current driver’s licence; comfortable working autonomously and as part of a cross-functional team.
