Location: Brisbane or Gold Coast, QLD
Package: Up to $120,000 base + $15,000 Car Allowance + Fuel Card + Super + Uncapped Bonus (OTE $180,000+)
Company
A privately owned and well-established Australian business supplying premium building materials and compliance-driven systems to the construction industry. Operating nationally, the company partners with world-class manufacturers to deliver fire-safe insulation, passive fire protection systems, and building-envelope solutions that improve the safety, performance, and energy efficiency of modern buildings.
Their products are used across a wide range of projects, from architect-designed homes and multi-residential developments to commercial and civic buildings, helping builders, contractors, and architects meet the stringent requirements of the National Construction Code (NCC). The business has a strong reputation for technical expertise, reliability, and service excellence, and is now seeking a motivated Key Account Manager to continue driving growth across Queensland.
Opportunity
This newly created role offers an opportunity for an experienced sales professional to take ownership of a high-growth territory across South East Queensland, representing a trusted and innovative brand within the building industry. You will be responsible for developing new business, managing existing accounts, and influencing project specifications for high-performance building solutions used by builders, contractors, architects, and resellers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow revenue and profitability by achieving and exceeding set sales targets.
- Develop strong relationships with residential and commercial builders, ceiling and partition contractors, roofing specialists, façade installers, and architectural specifiers.
- Identify new project opportunities via relationship networks, project tracking tools, and lead follow-ups.
- Present and promote building envelope and fire protection systems to both trade and design audiences.
- Work closely with distributors and merchants to increase product visibility and stock movement.
- Support builders and contractors on site with technical product advice, training, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure reliable supply and delivery performance.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline forecasts to support sales reporting and territory planning.
- Attend trade shows, CPD presentations, and industry events to strengthen market presence.
- Contribute ideas to the launch of upcoming product lines and marketing initiatives.
This is a field-based role offering autonomy, variety, and significant earning potential for a results-driven professional who enjoys working in a consultative, technical sales environment.
Benefits
- Attractive Base Salary: Up to $120,000 + $15,000 car allowance + fuel card + super.
- Uncapped Bonus Structure: Realistic six-figure OTE for strong performers (circa $180,000+).
- Premium Product Portfolio: Represent leading building-envelope, insulation, and fire-protection systems trusted across the Australian market.
- Diverse Client Base: Sell into builders, contractors, architects, and distributors — broad exposure across construction channels.
- Autonomy & Trust: Manage your own region with strong operational and technical support.
- Career Growth: Pathway to senior account management or state management roles as the business expands nationally.
- Inclusive Culture: Supportive, close-knit team that values initiative, integrity, and professional growth.
Candidate
You are a proactive and technically minded sales professional with a passion for the construction industry. You understand how to build relationships across both trade and professional channels, and you thrive on converting opportunities into tangible results.
Skills, Experience & Attributes:
- 3–5+ years of external sales experience within the building products, construction, or architectural supply sector.
- Proven ability to manage a sales territory and grow business through both new business development and key account management.
- Experience selling to builders, contractors, or reseller merchants — ideally with exposure to specification-driven sales involving architects and consultants.
- Knowledge of building materials such as insulation, façades, cladding, or fire protection systems highly regarded.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to understand project lifecycles and stakeholder needs.
- Confident communicator with strong presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Organised, self-motivated, and comfortable using CRM systems and digital tools for pipeline management.
- Trade or technical background in construction, architecture, or related fields desirable but not essential.
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout South East Queensland.
This role is ideal for a career-driven professional seeking long-term growth within a respected and expanding organisation, representing premium products that genuinely make a difference to the performance, safety, and sustainability of Australian buildings.
