The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) serves as the primary liaison for United Rentals’ most significant clients, responsible for developing and executing long-term account strategies that drive revenue and enhance customer value. This position will focus on accounts in the Defence sector. This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute strategic initiatives to grow United Rentals share of wallet across key strategic accounts.

Build and maintain influential relationships across various levels of client organisations, aligning United Rentals value proposition with the customer’s goals.

Engage in targeted networking and professional interactions to identify and influence key decision-makers within strategic accounts.

Prepare and present compelling, customer-centric proposals that highlight value, differentiation, and alignment with client needs.

Collaborate with senior leaders within United Rentals, to deepen strategic connections across client organisations.

Provide mentoring and leadership to other members of the sales network to foster best practices in key account management.

What we are looking for

Minimum 5 years’ experience in strategic or key account management, within the defence sector.

Customer-centric mindset with strong problem-solving abilities

Proven track record of managing large, complex accounts across multiple regions or industries.

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data and develop actionable insights.

Exceptional relationship management and negotiation skills.
