We’re seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive growth, build strong client relationships, and expand our presence across key markets in the Northern Territory.
About the Role
Reporting to the Area Sales Director – APAC, you’ll lead efforts to manage and grow existing client relationships while identifying and developing new business opportunities. You’ll represent our world-class portfolio of electrical products and services, with a strong focus on engineered solutions for the resources, oil & gas, and new energy sectors.
This is a strategic role for a self-driven professional who thrives on technical engagement, long-term relationship building, and achieving commercial results.
Key Responsibilities:
Meet sales and profitability targets in line with the sales strategy and company objectives.
Professionally represent the company in the marketing and selling of company-nominated products, brands & services, along with the wider business product portfolio, to a targeted set of new and existing customers within the specified geographic area.
Identify, qualify, and develop project sales opportunities from early concept through all stages, with a strong focus on the specification to maximize the potential of the Company's brands, products & services.
In developing the role, the individual will be expected to travel as required within the specified geographic area.
Develop and implement sales strategies with both short-term and long-term sales goals & objectives, and the identification of new products and solutions to new and existing clients, and to develop new supplier opportunities.
Submit activity reports, sales plans and business proposals, and in collaboration with the Area Sales Director, assist in the generation of forecasts, budgets and business objectives.
Deliver professional and engaging presentations to clients and stakeholders, utilizing existing material and developing new, bespoke content where required.
About You:
The position generally requires a technical or engineering background, educated to degree/foundation degree level in an associated discipline, though this may be mitigated by experience and background. An understanding or experience with Electrical Equipment for Hazardous Areas (EEHA).
Previous business experience within an engineered product environment and/or with a sales/marketing background in the Resources and Industrial markets. Experience within Oil & Gas, New Energy markets is preferable.
An excellent appreciation of the local market and the ability to communicate at all levels within the EPC, OEM and End User business areas.
Strongly proactive with a highly developed ability to function on their own initiative, a high level of energy and the ability to finalize and close orders and contracts.
To manage complex EPC projects, delegate tasks, generate detailed sales reports and see project proposals through from beginning to end.
An excellent communicator and presenter at all levels, both internally to the Company and externally with customers.
Will demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and possess the necessary team skills to work with other members of the sales organization across the business division.
