The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive the specification and sales of our aluminium cladding products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Australian construction or building materials industry and possess a robust, existing network of contacts to leverage. You will be responsible for identifying new project opportunities, building and nurturing relationships with key industry stakeholders, and ultimately growing our project pipeline and market share.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Generation: Proactively identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities by targeting architects, façade engineers, developers, builders and contractors.
Networking: Actively leverage your existing industry network to generate leads, secure meetings, and introduce Archimax's product offerings.
Specification Sales: Conduct compelling presentations and product demonstrations to architectural and design firms to secure the specification of our cladding systems on commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, positioning Archimax as the preferred supplier for façade solutions.
Market Intelligence: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, project pipelines, and changes to the National Construction Code (NCC) and other relevant Australian Standards.
Sales Cycle Management: Manage opportunities from initial enquiry through to specification and tender, ensuring a smooth handover to the project delivery team.
CRM & Reporting: Meticulously track all sales activities, customer interactions, and project progress in the company CRM system. Provide regular reports on pipeline and sales forecasts.
Industry Engagement: Represent Archimax professionally at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions to enhance brand visibility and generate new leads.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a business development, technical sales or specification role within the Australian construction, building materials or façade industry.
A proven and transferable network of contacts with architects, builders, developers, and/or façade consultants in the Australia market.
Willing to travel interstate
Demonstrable track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and business development objectives.
Strong understanding of the construction project lifecycle, from design and specification to tender and construction.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with key stakeholders.
Valid Australian Driver's Licence and the ability to travel regularly to meet clients and visit project sites.
Desirable:
Direct experience selling cladding, façades, or related architectural building products (e.g., windows, curtain walls, Cladding products Technical aptitude and the ability to read architectural drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA), particularly regarding façade combustibility and performance requirements.
Proficiency with CRM software.

The NSW distribution centre is at Erskine Park western Sydney. As a result of our recent growth are three additional branch operations at Yatala south of Brisbane, Hope Valley south of Perth and Keysborough at southeast of Melbourne.
Darley operate its business through two distinct marketing arms to its fabricator and reseller customers being direct from the mill or via the Australian distribution warehouses.
