SUMMARY

An excellent interim opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel with finance and investments experience to join a financial institution in Sydney. With a focus on infrastructure and property asset investments, this is an interim contract role initially for 4 to 6 months, with flexible working arrangements from Sydney CBD.

THE COMPANY

This financial institution manages investments and financial risk for clients across multiple asset classes, including infrastructure and property assets.

THE ROLE

You will provide legal support to the investments team, with a focus on infrastructure and property assets. This interim role runs for 4–6 months, based in Sydney CBD with hybrid working flexibility.

Advise on infrastructure and property investment transactions, including structuring, risk assessment and regulatory compliance.

Draft, review and negotiate investment management and other investment services agreements.

Review investor reports, updates and marketing materials for legal and regulatory compliance.

Liaise with and manage external legal providers as directed.

Monitor and advise on changes to legal and regulatory frameworks.

Support the General Counsel and contribute to projects, committees and cross-functional initiatives.

ABOUT YOU

You are an experience legal professional with finance and investment experience, ideally including experience with infrastructure and property asset investments. You can work independently in a fast-paced environment and provide commercially focused legal advice on complex transactions.

Minimum 7 years’ post-admission experience in banking and finance, with exposure to funds management and wholesale investments, including advising on infrastructure and property asset investments

Strong drafting and negotiation skills

Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate advice

Clear communication skills, able to explain complex legal concepts in plain language to diverse stakeholders

Ability to work effectively in a small legal team while maintaining integrity and professional standards
