About the Role
As the Supervisor Waste Facilities, you will lead the day-to-day operations of our waste management sites, ensuring they run safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental regulations. You’ll oversee a dedicated team, manage contractors, and maintain high standards of service delivery across the city’s transfer station and recycling facility. This role is pivotal in supporting sustainable waste practices and delivering essential services to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Direct and coordinate all activities across waste facilities, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and support a diverse team of site operators and contractors, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance & Safety: Monitor and enforce compliance with environmental legislation, workplace safety standards, and council policies.
  • Service Excellence: Maintain high standards of customer service and operational efficiency, ensuring facilities meet community expectations and service benchmarks.
  • Asset & Resource Management: Oversee the maintenance and utilization of plant, equipment, and infrastructure to maximize lifespan and minimize downtime.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare operational reports, track performance metrics, and contribute to strategic planning and budgeting processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal departments, external contractors, regulatory bodies, and the public to ensure transparent and effective communication.

You understand the operational complexities of these environments—from traffic flow and equipment maintenance to regulatory compliance and community engagement.
