Head of Early Learning Centre - Commencing 2026
Salary: $140,000
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and inspiring Head of Early Learning Centre to lead a high-quality, well-established early learning service within an independent school environment.
My client is seeking a passionate and hands-on leader who can guide a dedicated team, ensure operational excellence, and foster a warm, community-focused culture that supports children, families, and educators alike.
About the Role
Reporting to a supportive senior leadership team, the Head of ELC will oversee the educational direction, operational management, and compliance of the centre. The role includes some on-the-floor time to remain connected with the children and team while leading strategically and collaboratively.
The successful candidate will bring a strong background in independent school early learning, combining educational insight, operational expertise, and people leadership to ensure excellence across all aspects of the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide educational and operational leadership across the ELC.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant early childhood regulations and frameworks.
- Lead and inspire a team of qualified teachers and assistants.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive workplace culture.
- Build trusted relationships with children, families, and the wider school community.
- Represent the ELC at key community and parent engagement events.
- Drive continuous improvement and contribute to the school’s strategic goals.
Candidate Profile
- Early Childhood Teacher qualification
- Proven leadership experience within an independent school early learning setting.
- Strong understanding of compliance, operations, and educational quality frameworks.
- Confident, visible leader who is proactive, organised, and community-minded.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative leadership style.
