Production & Operations Manager - Central Kitchen / Food Manufacturing

Location: Western Sydney, NSW
Salary: $140,000-$160,000 + Super (based on experience)

About the Role

JRM Hospitality and Recruitment is seeking an accomplished Production & Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of food manufacturing at our state-of-the-art central kitchen. This role will suit a hands-on professional who thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment and knows how to bring out the best in their team while maintaining uncompromising standards.

You'll take ownership of production, quality, safety, warehousing, and distribution-ensuring every process runs efficiently and every product meets our brand's reputation for consistency and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily production, batching, cooking, packaging, and dispatch operations.

Maintain strict compliance with HACCP, GMP, FSANZ, and company audit standards.

Develop and hold teams accountable to clear performance targets across production, warehouse, and logistics.

Drive operational discipline, accuracy, and consistency in every process.

Oversee stock, raw materials, and finished goods to maintain optimal inventory control.

Manage budgets, labour costs, waste reduction, and productivity targets.

Deliver continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.

Collaborate with R&D to commercialise and scale new recipes or products.

Uphold safety, hygiene, and maintenance standards across all areas of operation.

Report on KPIs including yield, waste, quality, and delivery performance to senior management.

About You

Proven experience in a senior food manufacturing or central kitchen operations role (essential).

Strong leadership presence-able to set expectations, follow through, and maintain accountability.

Deep understanding of HACCP, GMP, FSANZ, and WHS compliance.

Commercially astute with strong budgeting and analytical capability.

Skilled in production planning, ERP systems, and data-driven performance management.

Exceptional organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple moving parts.
