About the Position
We are embarking on a program of work to further enhance the on-campus student experience — think food, partnerships with students, and vibrant campus activities that create a sticky campus where students feel a strong sense of belonging and connection with both staff and peers. We want our on-campus student experience to promote student success, wellbeing, and cultural experiences for our international students.
We have a proven strategy that has delivered great results at our Darwin campus, and we’re now looking for someone to implement an aligned, context-specific program in Sydney. You’ll need to be comfortable working across multiple teams and shifting between taking the lead and being an active team member. As this is a new role, we’re looking for someone who’s adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and open to experimentation as we find the right approach together.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
- A relevant degree with subsequent experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Demonstrated experience in student engagement, wellbeing, or support roles within higher education, international pathway program, ELICOS or related context.
- Proven ability to manage complex student issues with sensitivity, discretion, and sound judgement.
- Strong understanding of international student needs and challenges, and the ability to design and scales initiatives that support their transition and success.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and evaluated evidence-based initiatives that foster student belonging, connection, and community.
- Highly developed interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with staff, students, and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver outcomes.
- Commitment to student success and wellbeing, aligned with CDU’s values of inclusion, integrity, and collaboration

- Experience working in multi-campus or transnational higher education environments.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks relating to student wellbeing, privacy, and duty of care
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 7. The base salary will be in the range of $96,559 - $105,992 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $112,974 - $124,010 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
