Arrahman College is an innovative and dynamic Islamic school that first opened its doors in 2022. In 2026, the College will proudly cater for Kindergarten to Year 7, with an anticipated enrolment of 350 students. Situated in a thriving, high-growth area, Arrahman College is on an exciting journey of expansion towards a full Kindergarten to Year 12 offering, with a planned capacity of 800 students.

The Role:
Arrahman College invites applications from enthusiastic, qualified, and experienced Support Teaching staff to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be sympathetic to the philosophy of education in our Islamic school and demonstrate flexibility in balancing both administrative and classroom support responsibilities.
This is a full-time position: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
As a member of our Primary team, your role will be multifaceted, encompassing both administrative support and teaching-related duties:
Administrative & Operational Support:
Reception Duties
Provide a courteous and friendly telephone, email, and reception service to all callers and visitors, ensuring that the appropriate staff member receives the information as required, which contributes to the smooth running of the school and enhances the school's professional image.
Act as the first point of contact for both internal and external general enquiries and requests for assistance, maintaining appropriate confidentiality and either responding or directing these to other staff members as appropriate so that timely and relevant responses are provided.
Administrative Support
Provide administrative support to the administrative team as required, including general assistance, making appointments, and producing reports and correspondence, to contribute to the effectiveness of the administrative team.
Undertake general administrative and support duties as required, which contribute to the smooth and effective daily operations of the whole School, including coordinating school tours, travel bookings and associated transport, organising annual school photos, and making room bookings as well as distributing information to staff and community as required.
Provide general administrative services within the Front Office to ensure that all ongoing operational outcomes are met.
Ensure that the Front Office is well presented and runs efficiently and effectively, through adequate maintenance of equipment and resources.
Provide secretarial assistance to the College Principal.
Student Management
Establish and maintain accurate and confidential student and family records to assist in the effective and timely management of student needs throughout the school year.
Undertake all necessary activities to maintain the central student/parent database.
Assist with the distribution of student reports- as required.
First Aid and Emergency
Ensure that any accidents or illnesses are managed promptly and effectively and that such action is appropriately documented, including the provision of First Aid, requesting emergency assistance, and notification of parents/guardians as required, as part of the strong ethos of duty of care at the school.
It is a prerequisite that this position holds up to date First Aid and CPR certificates.
Duty of Care
Ensure the good physical and mental health and safety of children at the College through maintaining a thorough understanding of college policies and procedures (including the student Wellbeing Policy), as well as knowledge of and compliance with emergency and accident procedures, undertaking all actions necessary and holding a conscious awareness of real and potential safety concerns.
Commitment to follow up interviews, emails, or notes with a response to parents.
Support for Teaching & School Programs:
· Provide administrative and logistical support to classroom teachers to enhance teaching and learning activities.
· Assist in preparing learning materials and resources for students.
· Support small group or individual student programs under the direction of teachers or coordinators.
· Help coordinate co-curricular programs, excursions, and school events.
· Contribute to maintaining a professional, organised, and positive learning environment that reflects the College's Islamic ethos.
Essential Criteria:
· Demonstrated commitment to the Islamic ethos of the College.
· Understanding of and alignment with the School's Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan.
· Knowledge of current educational practices and an understanding of student learning support strategies.
· Strong administrative and organisational skills to manage office and operational tasks efficiently.
· Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, parents, and colleagues to support learning and school operations.
· Minimum 2 years of experience in school administration, student support services, or educational environment
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and student information management systems
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
· Strong administrative, organisational, and time-management skills.
· Ability to provide effective support to teachers and students across multiple stages of learning.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, promoting positive relationships with staff, students, and parents.
· Familiarity with a range of teaching strategies, learning resources, and assessment tools to support student learning.
· Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
· Relevant qualifications or experience in education, office administration, or student support services.
Desirable Experience:
Experience in social media management, content creation, and digital communication. Proficiency in using design platforms such as Canva, Adobe Express, or equivalent tools to produce engaging visual materials and promotional content that align with the College's values and ethos. General photography experience, including capturing and editing images for marketing and communication purposes, is highly regarded.

Remuneration:
Salary will align with the Independent Schools (Professional and Support Staff) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025 at the successful applicant's level of responsibility and experience.
