About the role

Cowanna Harvesting is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Mildura, Victoria. Due to the demand for our quality and specialist services, we are looking for energetic and enthusiastic members to join our expanding team in Merbein. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our fleet of heavy machinery and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. This full-time role is crucial in supporting our operations and keeping our business running smoothly.

What you'll be doing

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, computer diagnosis and other components of heavy machinery

Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections on harvesting equipment

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues, using diagnostic tools and techniques

Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance activities

Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the timely completion of tasks and minimise downtime

Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations

What we're looking for

Preferably a minimum 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, prior experience in the agricultural or heavy equipment industries valuable but not essential

Proven expertise in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and other heavy machinery components

Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail

Commitment to safety and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Valid driver's license and the ability to operate a range of heavy machinery
