Meluca Recycling is a leading waste and resource recovery business based in Gippsland with yards at both Bunyip & Drouin, Victoria, providing transport, earthmoving, bin hire and recycling services across Victoria and also New South Wales.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our team full-time. You’ll be part of a small, supportive crew maintaining and repairing a modern fleet of trucks, trailers and machinery—including crushing and screening equipment—both in our Bunyip workshop and on-site as needed.

About the Role

You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a range of heavy vehicles and machinery to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
Key duties include:

Conducting routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers and heavy plant

Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults

Performing scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance

Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety and environmental requirements

Occasional travel to attend breakdowns or service equipment on-site

About You

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys working in a hands-on environment.
To be successful, you’ll have:

Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (truck and/or plant)

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems

Ability to diagnose and solve problems independently

A high standard of safety awareness and attention to detail

Valid driver’s licence (HR preferred) and relevant trade qualifications
