The Position

Avalon Airport Australia is looking for an experienced and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. Our Mechanical team are responsible for carrying out maintenance, servicing and repairs on fixed and mobile plant and equipment, service and repairs on trucks, ground support equipment, stand by generators, agricultural equipment and undertake general maintenance tasks. Some of the responsibilities have been outlined below.

What you will do:

Perform scheduled and unscheduled plant and equipment maintenance.

Perform scheduled and unscheduled vehicle, truck and grounds maintenance equipment, general servicing and repairs.

Perform diagnostics on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.

General maintenance and workshop duties.

Maintenance of stand by power generation.

Maintain accurate records of work completed.

Carry out aerodrome operational ramp activities during scheduled freight movements i.e. ground handling for Grand Prix freight etc.

Comply with the companies Workplace Health and Safety requirements at all times.

What you will bring:

You will need to be a qualified Diesel Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.

Minimum 3 years qualified experience.

Experience in the diagnostic, general vehicle, fixed and mobile plant maintenance & repair.

Actively contribute towards an ongoing improvement culture in the safety, quality and productivity of the team.

Have an ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.

Have a positive attitude with a motivation to succeed.

Strong safety focus and commitment.

HR Licence essential.

You will be a people person with a 'can do' attitude who is passionate, energetic and shows initiative.

Good time management, planning and prioritising skills.

A sound ability in problem solving and decision making.

Good written and verbal skills

Strong attention to detail and a willingness and ability to learn

Proactive approach and contribution towards maintaining a high-quality safety culture.

Good computer literacy including Microsoft suite of applications

Ability to work outdoors in varied weather environments.
