Role Overview:

The Senior Estimator will oversee the end-to-end estimating process, providing accurate and timely cost advice across all project stages. This is a key commercial role that supports decision-making and profitability across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and technical expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working within a head contractor or builder developer environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full estimating function for residential projects
• Prepare detailed cost plans, BOQs, and tender submissions using CostX.
• Conduct take-offs, trade breakdowns, and rate build-ups with precision and consistency.
• Review subcontractor and supplier pricing and coordinate tender comparisons.
• Prepare feasibility estimates, cost analyses, and value engineering options.
• Collaborate closely with the design, development, and construction teams during pre-construction.
• Support commercial and delivery teams with ongoing cost reviews and reporting.
• Maintain cost databases, benchmarking, and cost forecasting tools.
• Mentor junior estimators or cadets as required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator in residential, commercial or mixed-use construction.
• Proven experience delivering cost plans for projects in the $30m–$50m+ range.
• Proficient in CostX (essential).
• Strong technical understanding of construction methodologies, trades, and procurement.
• Excellent numerical accuracy and communication skills.
• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
