Western Work Force are seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Controller to lead our finance function and partner with project managers to deliver accurate financial insights across our operations.

We’re looking for a confident and capable finance professional who combines technical expertise with a collaborative, business-partnering mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking and financial planning
• Prepare annual budgets and provide regular updated cashflow forecasts
• Support the business with reliable financial projections and scenario modelling
• Prepare monthly management reports with detailed variance analysis
• Produce comprehensive monthly management and project reports, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, WIP, and project-specific reporting
• Develop and maintain KPI reporting, analyse variances, and deliver actionable financial insights to senior leadership
• Conduct financial reviews of construction projects to assess profitability and performance
• Manage BAS, PAYG, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations
• Support year-end tax planning and liaise with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and efficiency

Qualifications & Experience:

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or CA qualification (or actively progressing toward completion)
• At least 5 years of experience in a senior accounting or finance role, ideally within construction or other project-driven environments
• Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and delivering meaningful financial analysis
• Strong working knowledge of Xero (or comparable accounting systems) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with Quantify or similar project management and costing systems will be highly regarded
